Bible Study on the Book of Colossians

Join us in our ONLINE Conversation about Life and Faith via Zoom. For the next 6weeks, we will dig into the book of Colossians, a letter by the Apostle Paul.

Some context on the Book of Colossians:

• This is one of the 4 letters the Apostle Paul wrote from prison.
• The church of Colossae was not one of the churches Paul planted. It was planted by a follower of Paul when he was in Ephesus.
• Paul warns the Colossians against doctrines of man and false teachings (heresies).
• Paul’s purpose is to refute the Colossian heresy, especially Gnosticism. According to the Concordia NIV Bible Study, Gnosticism was one of the most dangerous heresies of the first two centuries of the church. Its central teaching was that spirit is entirely good and matter is entirely evil.
